EN 343 is a European standard that defines the waterproofness and breathability of rainwear. This certification ensures that rainwear protects the wearer from rain, moisture and wind while allowing adequate air circulation during work.
Water resistance classes:
- Class 1 – Basic protection, can withstand light rain
- Class 2 – Medium protection, can withstand moderate rain
- Class 3 – High protection, withstands heavy rain
- Class 4 – Excellent waterproofing for extreme conditions
Breathability classes:
- Class 1 – Least breathable, may feel uncomfortable with prolonged use
- Class 2 – Moderate breathability, suitable for normal work
- Class 3 – Good breathability, reduces sweating during physical work
- Class 4 – Excellent breathability, optimal for active work
